A 19th Century Small Slab Seal Bottle Berry Moorhead Sheffield.

Thomas Berry & Co. Ltd, Moorhead Brewery, South Street Moor, Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Founded 1824 as the Ecclesall Brewery and was renamed the Moorhead Brewery 1874. Not in Ecclesall, but located near the junction of The Moor and Furnival Street in the city centre. Registered December 1873. Acquired by Tennant Brothers Ltd in 1923 with 78 houses and brewing ceased.

 

Dimensions

Approximately 16.5cm high, 7cm at it's widest and 4.5cm deep, the slab seal is 4.5cm wide and 2.5cm high.

 

Condition

Overall in good condition, 3 chips to the rim, small chip to the base and a small firing crack, all of which can be seen in the photos.
