A pair of 19th century bronze cherub candlesticks by Henri Ettiene Dumaige. This pair of candlesticks are of superb quality with fine detail to each feature. Signed to the top of the base Dumaige.
Henri Ettiene Dumaige, born in Paris 1830 and was later a student of both Augustin Alexandre Dumont and Jean-Jacques Feuchère. He became a well respected French sculptor of the 19th century in his own right, known for the exceptional quality of his work, exhibiting his pieces in the Paris Salon and the Academie des Beaux-Arts from 1862-1877 He eventually died at the young age of 58 in St-Gilles-Croix-de-Vié 1888.
