A graduated set of 14 Victorian brass servants bells on their original cream painted pine board. Retaining their original pully wires this is an exceptionally rare find from a large English country house. Each bell would give off its individual ring corresponding to the particular room it served, the servants being trained by sound to immediately recognise where they were required.

The board is 4.3m long and 27cm wide.
 
Condition
 
Some flaking to the paint and historical woodworm holes, the iron work is rusted and the bells unpolished. 
 
We have given this piece a light clean but felt it important to leave the natural ageing and wear as to maintain its integrity and originality.
